Crystal Palace vs Everton Prediction: Premier League Match on 26.09.2020
Preview and Prediction
This is the battle of the potential dark horses in Premier League this season. Both teams have superbly enjoyed their early impressive results. It might be too soon to say they will be on the top five but The Palace and The Toffees do share the same ambition, aiming for one spot in the continental competition and there is no better way than securing a maximum point in each and every match, including this encounter on the weekend at Selhurst Park.
The teams’ previous games
The London side was surprisingly able to stun Manchester United last weekend by 3-1 win on the road. Andros Townsend opened the score sheet followed by Winfred Zaha’s penalty. The Red Devils netted a lifeline by their new boy, Danny Van de Beek but Zaha’s strike extended their lead and sealed three points.
The Toffees have been on the good run too. They dismantled West Bromwich 5-2 last weekend. At first, they had to concede first by Grady Diangana. It took twenty minutes before their equaliser came as Dominic Calvert-Lewin notched the ball into the net. At the end of the first half, their Colombian star, James Rodriguez gave them the lead. At the second half, it was WBA’s turn to level them by Matheus Pereira. However, that was their last concession as they responded three times afterwards by Michael Keane and Calvert Lewin’s brace.
Possible tactic
Roy Hodgson’s classic English 4-4-2 seems to be still working. He counts on two wingers and two strikers with rather pragmatic approach. Jeffrey Schulpp and Andros Townsend will be the wingers while Winfred Zaha is given a freer role to be slightly wide attacker. The Ghanaian international Jordan Ayew is still the main frontman.
His counterpart, Carlo Ancellotti has more option to explore his team with the creative figures as James Rodriguez and Allan in the midfield. He could deploy 4-3-3 which can transform to 4-3-1-2 or 4-4-2 when necessary with his main trio, Richarlison-Calvert Lewin-James Rodriguez.
Players to watch
The Palace’s top performer, Winfred Zaha is currently on fire with three goals so far. Some other key figures to watch are the former Newcastle man Andros Townsend, Jeffrey Schulpp and the goalie Vicente Guaita.
In Everton, James Rodriguez is going to play a vital role this season as the number ten. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is surely another key man alongside Jordan Pickford and another new signing, Allan.
Crystal Palace vs Everton Prediction
This clash might not be a decisive one yet but it will certainly give impact to both team’s mentality. Hodgson’s men are looking for another positive result at home while Richarlison and Co are targeting to stay on the European zone as long as possible. Considering Ancelotti’s more various options in his squad, a narrow win for them should be on their hand eventually.
Betting odds
It is expected to be even. The home side is projected to win at 3.65, whereas the visitor’s win market is at 2.05. The draw result is at the value of 3.30.
